At this small, single-discipline institution, you can focus 100% on interior design — and we can focus 100% on you. You’ll have real relationships with your instructors, and our network of alumni will be invested in your success as your future employers.

When they’re not on campus in the design epicenter that is NYC (or logging in remotely from home!), our students are in London, Paris, Florence, New Delhi, Mexico City, Shanghai, Nantucket, or Palm Springs — studying everything from contemporary design to architectural landmarks.

People in design and architecture know NYSID. In its short list of the best interior design programs, Architectural Digest called out NYSID for producing “critical thinkers who can look at design through social, cultural, and historical lenses.”

Our faculty are principals of their own firms and practicing designers at places like Gensler, HOK, Perkins&Will, Williams Lawrence, Jeremiah Brent, Young Huh, and Rockwell Group. And, our students get to know even more leaders in the field through guest critiques, design competition invitations, and designing for show houses.
